Via the DSpace@NTUA the research work of the NTUA academic membership is collected, stored, indexed, maintained and distributed digitally. It constitutes the Institutional Repository that contains the dissertations, master dissertations, PHD theses, journal papers and conference papers of the NTUA faculty members. Furthermore, it contains digitized material (books and journals) of the NTUA Historic Library.
The Institutional Repository runs on the open source software for digital collection management DSpace v.1.8 and implements the OAI-PMH 2.0 protocol to ensure open access and harvesting of metadata.
According to the decision of the NTUA Senate (02/24/2006) “Every student who obtains an NTUA diploma or degree shall submit mandatorily to the Central Library a copy, in electronic form, of their final work (dissertation, master dissertation, PHD thesis) and of the relevant accompanying material. The exact form of the electronic content and of the submission process will be determined by the Central Library.”
