All the members of the NTUA and the public in general have access to the Library and its material (printed or electronic). The NTUA Library cannot be used as a place to promote, sell or advertise products and such activities are prohibited. Moreover, the entrance is not allowed to people who have the intention to interfere of deranging or upsetting the Library Services.
All the members of the NTUA and the NTUA Alumni (not in use yet) have loan and inter-library-loan privileges upon obtaining a Library card.
The NTUA Library provides the community with special material and software. In the reading room area, are located four assistive technology workstations (three desktop computers and one laptop) that allow equal access to knowledge, direct and unhindered access without discrimination and barriers for people with special educational needs and disability.
In the library, quiet must be kept. Smoking and food consumption are not allowed. Bottles of water are permitted in the premises, while other drinks are only allowed in thermal bottles. Everyone is obliged to respect the library’s property (PCs, photocopying machines, furniture, books etc.)
Free wifi (internet connection) access is available to all NTUA members with the use of their Institutional username and password. Free wifi access is also available to the external users of the Library, with the use of an access code which is daily activated.
All users can use the photocopying machines by inserting a special magnetic card which is provided by a coin machine, costs 1.50 Euro and it is valid for 50 photocopies.
Users in need of a thorough information search can use the library tools or ask for guidance from the Information desk.
Users should not place back on the shelves any material they have used; instead they must place it on the tables and carrels, or other places indicated by the library staff.
Users with inappropriate behaviour towards the staff, or users that refuse to comply with the regulations of the library are excluded from using the library and its services. If the inappropriate behaviour is caused by a member of the academic staff, or technical and administrative staff, the incident is referred to the Senate.
