Guidelines for the electronic submission of the dissertations, master dissertations and PHD theses to the NTUA Central Library

    • Electronic submission is mandatory for all NTUA students.
    • Electronic submission is permitted only when the work has been examined and has been accepted by the relevant committee and has incorporated any corrections or additions. Electronic submission will be implemented through the relevant online submission form https://dspace.lib.ntua.gr/login.
    • Access to the online submission form is feasible via all known browsers and from anywhere in or out of the NTUA campus. However, access is feasible only via a DSpace connection with the NTUA credentials (Shibboleth), or via a registration with the use of a reliable email address that will be verified and used as a login name.
    • The electronic submission form requires the completion of certain metadata concerned with the work’s title, authors, abstract, etc. It also requires the upload of the work’s document(s) in PDF for the text, in JPEG for images, in PPT for presentations, that should not be larger than 50 MB each, or 100 MB in total, per submission.

    • Students ought to choose the subject categories which best describe their work, from a set of controlled vocabularies. They also ought to add at least 5 keywords in Greek and 5 in English (subject terms that briefly describe the content of their work).
    • After this, students should visit the Central Library in order to deposit a CD/DVD that contains a single PDF file, as well as optional supporting files, if there are any. The Central Library, after auditing, grants an acknowledgement which is an essential document for every student to obtain a diploma. The student should deposit this acknowledgement to the respective Secretariat.
    • No deposit of a print copy of a dissertation, master dissertation and PHD thesis is required in the NTUA Central Library.
    • The deposit of a print copy of a dissertation, master dissertation, PHD thesis and lecture is obligatory only for the School of Architecture.
    • Important note: A voluntary submission of an earlier work, e.g. before 2006, is welcomed. Students who wish to submit an earlier work, not available in the Institutional Repository, may use the pertinent online submission form.
    • PHD candidates have the additional obligation to submit electronically any journal or conference publications that have resulted from their research, use the pertinent online submission form (Collection: Student Publications).
    • All items in the Institutional Repository are protected by copyright.
    • The intellectual property rights belong to the author, who, after the release statement, “grants the NTUA Central Library the non-exclusive right to publish and distribute the electronic form of a dissertation, master dissertation and PHD thesis on the Internet, via the Institutional Repository, for educational, research, private and not for commercial purposes and in accordance with the access policy that has been set.
