Operation of the NTUA Library & Information Center services during the academic year 2021-2022, from Monday 4th October 2021, due to COVID-19

We would like to inform you that according to the announcements of the Ministry of Education & Religions, the NTUA Library & Information Center and its branch in Patision Complex are in operation under restrictions from Monday 4th October 2021, based on the instructions of National Public Health Organization (NPHO), referring to the emergency measures for public health protection from COVID-19.

During this time, the following procedures are taking place:

  • We are open for library users
  • Central Library, Zografou Campus, every day Monday to Friday 08:30-20:00.
  • Patision Branch Library – Averof Building, every day Monday to Friday 08:30-18:00.
  • Patision Branch Library – Bouboulina Building (4th fl.), Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday 08:30-18:00, Monday & Friday 08:30-15:00.
  • Patision Branch Library – Doxiadis Collection, Bouboulina Building (5th fl.), every day Monday to Friday 08:30-15:00.
  • Specific reading areas are available with the appropriate distances kept. The number of people allowed in the library has been decided according to the available study spots that can ensure 1,5-2 meters distance between users. Only specific seating spots are available for usage as indicated by the library staff and the relevant labeling. Access will be permitted only within very specific and restricted floors and library areas, as indicated by the staff.
  • Access to the library premises is permitted to NTUA members with the use of their academic identity – library card. The access to the library premises is permitted also to external users. It is mandatory to keep all safety measures in order to enter the library premises. These safety measures include your temperature check, the certificate display of vaccination or disease or a negative diagnostic result of rapid molecular tests (rapid-test) or molecular method of analysis (PCR test) from the coronavirus COVID-19, the mandatory use of a face mask by staff and users, the use of antiseptic solutions and the compliance with all the appropriate social distances. 
  • Access to the bookshelves is not allowed, even to those that coexist with the reading rooms (there will be a special sign prohibiting any contact with the bookshelves). The books are being retrieved from the bookshelves exclusively by the Library staff.
  • Loans and inter-loans of library material can take place without a pre-set appointment. Nevertheless, users are not allowed in the bookshelves. The books will be provided to the users only by the library’s staff. Books are available promptly, under the condition that they have been quarantined in an isolated space for 72 hours before each loan.

  • E-resources are available via the library’s website https://lib.ntua.gr as well as in the following link http://lib.ntua.gr/?p=1704&lang=en
  • The library provides information and help, regarding the search and retrieval of material electronically by using the service “Ask a Librarian” Help Topic: Material search/Scientific information. The Library’s and Information Center’s staff is willing to support and help in your research by utilizing all the e-services, tools and resources available.   • Usage of the photocopiers and computer stations is allowed.
  • Return of items is allowed without previous appointment, specifically: a) Return of loans b) Return of books from “Evdoxos”, c) CD for theses. All certifications are sent by e-mail.   • The certifications for non-obligations towards the library (clearance paper) are sent to you by e-mail upon request by using the service “Ask a LibrarianHelp Topic: Library Loan Service.
  • The electronic submission of your theses and dissertations in the Institutional Repository will be done remotely by each patron. The cd containing an e-copy of the thesis can be submitted to the library either personally, or by post. For information regarding all the assignments of the School of Architecture (undergraduate and postgraduate level), direct to the Branch Library, tel. no: 210 772 3313.
