The Wi – Fi service provides to all the members of the university and to visitors the ability to access the data network of the institution via the wireless technology Ethernet.
Access to this service is granted only to the authenticated users, whose username and password are registered in the main server of LDAP.
Access to this service is allowed to:
1. Members of the community of N.T.U.A. via their password for the Dialup service (remote Telephone Access to the data network) of the institution.
2. Visitors via username / password, which is valid only for one day and only in closed space where meetings or presentations take place (e.g. Ceremony room, multimedia rooms). The password is provided after an application from the organizer of the meeting – presentation.
The Central Library and its annexes provide free wi-fi from the NTUA network using a daily password to all its visitors. Please contact the Help-desk of the library for more information.
The network center recommends the installation of the digital certifications of the Certification Authority of N.T.U.A. on your computer. This way, your applications will be able to identify instantly the digital certification that uses the wi-fi service for the secure transmit (SSL/TLS) of your personal data through the internet.
The users of this service must comply with ‘terms of use policy’ that was approved by the senate of the institution on the 15/7/2011.
This service is available to the areas of N.T.U.A. where students and visitors are frequently gathered for events such as conferences, meetings and other social activities.
The network follows the 802.11b standard which uses the free zone of 2.4 Ghz and emits at the low frequency of 30 mW . The emission at this power/frequency is approved from the EU legislation and from the ΕΕΤΤ.
